i’d love to say that i thought this out carefully, but i was truly at the bookstore, saw this cookbook, and fell in love with it.

i mean. COME ON. it’s such a pretty and simple looking book, full of (i peeked) really great basic recipes that lead to way more complex ones. so instead of using joy of cooking, i’ll be working my way through this book for this blog – learning the very fundamental things (making puff pastry, for example, is on page 1) and testing more complex ones. and testing everything on my friends. i will start next week, and photograph everything (of course). if i know you, expect emails asking for taste-testers.
